Advance praise from Stewart Green, one of America's top climbing writers and photographers: "There is not a lot of climbing fiction being regularly published but as a climber, I love to eat up those words like candy. Good tent reading. My friend Michelle Hurni, who I served with on the ASCF board for comp climbing back in the '90s and has written a couple training books for FalconGuides, just published a climbing novel as an e-book. It's available at Amazon for Kindle and other devices like iPhones and iPads, all for the bargain price of $2.99. Check it out...and great work Michelle!"

Congratulations, Paige!
Paige Claassen (age 18) became the second American woman to send 5.14a at Rifle, CO. She sent Zulu after working the route in just under a week.

Free Tibet
As climbers, we have all experienced how small the world can be. This is true when you travel to a new area and run into people you know. It’s true when we lose a close friend in a country halfway around the world.

One of the biggest human rights travesties in our world affects a large portion of the world where climbing has a deep rooted history, Tibet. While China and the world celebrate 50 years of communism, the country of Tibet is still held under Chinese rule and the Dalai Lama remains in exile in India.

Free TibetTibet itself lost its history – from the monasteries, monks and lamas to the traditions and lifestyle of Tibetans over 50 years ago. The history of the struggle the Tibetans have faced is portrayed with gut clenching clarity in Ama Adhe, The Voice That Remembers.

Please, remember Tibet and the struggle they face. Even a simple “Free Tibet” bumper sticker can help bring attention to a peace loving country that was unable to fight the reign of communistic terror that changed the history of Tibet forever. There are numerous places you can make donations to promote human rights and democratic freedoms for the people of Tibet, including FreeTibet.org and the International Campaign for Tibet (SaveTibet.org).

Zumba Party
The Latin based dance/exercise class has swept through the United States and is hot in Colorado.  Michelle teaches Zumba twice a week in Estes Park at Rocky Mountain Health Club (RMHC, 970-577-1900).  Visitors are welcome.

She also teaches private, group classes in the Boulder/Denver/Ft. Collins area.  These classes are fun for bridal showers, retreats, birthday parties, family reunions, etc.

If you’ve got a group who wants to join the Zumba Party, send an e-mail to Zumba@MichelleHurni.com.
